Wild Card

Many times I've found that what one learns in one world can be applied to the other. This ties in strongly with rule number 1: people are people no matter where you go. The psychology never really changes all that much.

True it's hard to identify how throwing a good olde fireball at somebody, or providing a good beating or SAP can safely translate between realms (even if we REALLY, REALLY want to), but the strategic mind is an amazing thing.

Along with learning strategy (which military chess types have been doing for years) there are may other attributes that come across - - and even though hand-eye coordination, goal setting, weapon understanding, history all come to mind right now that isn't what I was thinking about when I started this little post.

The thing that seems to translate most, depending on the game, are more subtle. In the realm of games that involve multiple people (sry no solitaire here) some amazing things happen. Not only are we exposed to other personalities, allowing us to identify potential friends, foes and annoyances, but even more important we begin to identify ourselves.

If you have the time take a look at this article: Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds, Spades: Players Who Suit MUDS and see where your 'type' fits into our little reality. What is your play style?

Deep in the game I'm more of an Explorer/Achiever type but who knows one day I may join the elite ranks of the 'Killer Killer'. It's human nature to change - no sense in stopping now.
