I feels as though at times I'm loosing touch with reality, like the anchor is working it's way free from the ocean bottom - while other times I feel far to trapped by it, that I've been embedded in the fabric of this world. But enough of this quizzical existence when there are as Jake Chambers put it in Stephen King's Gunslinger and the Dark Tower, "Go then, there are other worlds than these."

Scary how quickly each link lead to others... not sure how many I will continue to follow in the future, but for now it's a nice change of addiction :)
I set out for the land of my dreams.
Having arrived at the land of my dreams,
I found I did not know the place.

Scattered Thoughts and Updates
I seem to do more posts like this anymore than any other. Sometimes I wonder if this blog is worth keeping any more - it's not as though there is a regular update schedule or even a general thread other than the general questioning of this reality and my semi lucid ideas of sanity and the requirements to blend into the crowd.
One day the deeper thought of the moment was not so much how many changes we experience as we hover between political, social and religious factions we encounter throughout our lives. Is it possible to maintain one's integrity or would the sophists argue that integrity is just one more illusion in a life that is nothing but a twisted form of jungle living (each preying on the other) and brutish survival at worst?
I've added a few more links to the side. The first is in the Hito no Tabi section (as I'm not really sure where it best fits into the sorting on the side) - I stumbled upon The Nourishing Gourmet when trying to find a good soy sauce, which if you have a palette for such can be a real trick. The site seems quite interesting and who knows maybe I'll start cooking a bit more again. Cooking for one is rather pointless for me most of the time - all the effort that goes into the prep, might as well just get a 50lb bag of Bachelor Chow and watch some Futurama.
The other links are in the comic section. So far I've enjoyed the story telling through them all - but have yet to figure out their publishing schedule. A Softer World - many would call this comic just wrong, but there is a dry wit in it's ironic cynicism that one reads at their own risk. Dresden Codak - one of the only comics I've come across that uses so much philosophy in it's creation of a world that contains segments such as Dragons & Discourse. The final comic added to the section is Rice Boy. So many stories lay in waiting here, the art is good and the storytelling is of a quality I can see Evan Dahm's tales becoming an animated feature or two.
UPDATE:
So I guess updating stuff comes in spurts in its' own convoluted way - - reorganization always seems to happen that way. Some bits either have to hit critical mass before change can occur or just adding a couple of things cause a shift in growth that was unexpected.
Added a couple of link groups along the side with additional links added to the mix. I mean what 's the point of a topic with only one link? - - anyway don't read to much into it as I'll most likely be going through a link consolidation later - without a destination many times the minutia of the day to day is all we have left :P

Life's Little Problem Solving Protocol
You may not hear it but sometimes those expletives are screaming inside and I have to fight to keep from sharing them. . .Gotta admit though, they make for really good story telling later if I pass my sanity roll. If I fail the roll, I do my best just to try and forget the whole thing ever happened. . . /attempts sanity roll
- - don't worry i usually change the names in the re-telling of a good story, most of the time anyway :P - -
Special thanks to Savy and GraphJam.

Roullette Odds 5 to 1
For those familiar with my stance on the use of "evil" will enjoy this little metaphor to the phone:
Each time the phone rings is like spinning the barrel on your Smith and Wesson 6 shooter. The difference is you have filled 5 of the chambers with live, spent uranium, hollow tip'd rounds and left only one empty.
These are the odds - - 1 of the 6 rounds will not cause you pain (you might even have a pleasant conversation). It's the other 5 chambers that will cause you to claw your mind out, questioning the intelligence of the world and your very existence at times. If you are lucky though you will get a mis-fire - this reprieve of the gods is a limited special as you will occasionally get them to hang up before you answer the phone, thus dodging the bullet so to speak.
The phones have been insane at work the past couple of weeks with many ongoing changes spawning a repetition of questions to be asked over and over again. . . It makes me with that there was a way to safely pull it off I like the way Cooper handles some of those live rounds :)

Self Stressor
Saw this comic on PHD (Piled Higher and Deeper) and it got me thinking how much of the stuff do we deal with on a daily basis really matter?

Up Coming Starfreeze
In other news other up and coming addictions that I will try to add links to along the side in the near future are brought to you by Mr. the Tiger and Starfreeze.com - - for reawakening my need for a good anime fix.
Current series I've grown quite fond of at the moment are:
Darker than Black, I've only seen the first few episodes of this one and I'm still trying to figure out the over arching plot - I think it has something to do with what's called the 'hellgate' will need to watch more to confirm :)
The second is Kaze no Stigma (Stigma of the Wind), a little bit more tongue and cheek with a good shot of elemental magic, supernatural events, and closer to our reality mayhem - it's hinted at a greater plot but generally it's just fun.
However the greatest addiction in my anime category has got to be Claymore. Based on the manga by the same name it's both simple and complex, and not for those who can't handle bloody violence on par with a couple of Die Hard Movies where swords are the weapon of choice.

Tag! No Touch Backs
Now for something a little different
Sometimes life gets too serious for it's own good - maybe that's why people have kids, or pets (yeah that's right I just put kids and pets on about the same level :P)

New Links for an Old Blog
A quick thanks to Mr. the Tiger for telling me about 365live it's one massive steaming audio site that seems to have just about everything I search for and is not just limited to English radio stations.
Another thanks to Andrew at 4th Avenue Blues for the link to The Therapist Mumbles
And finally to Ctrl+Alt+Del for the link to LFG Comic. (Seems like the older I get the darker my sense of humor becomes - and although I may not be as naive on a PVP realm when playing WoW I'd rather have the power to end the fight someone else picked with me than to pick the fight in the first place.)

You Feeling Lucky?
The not so cute truth about certain types of luck.

Found this on the web recently. Then realized there are some time we make our own luck, and other times when we need to borrow a little luck from those around us. For other 'Not So Cute' comics I've added a link to Kawaii Not along the side, along with a few others just for the change.

The Box
I'm slowly coming to the conclusion I will either need to get a Netflix account or purchase cable in the next few months, as open air television has really gone down hill. I understand the purpose of commercials and have no problem with them, but when the commercials start to have better writing than most of the programs they sponsor - -
Currently Netflix has the lead in the internal poll - due to the high ratings I've heard them get from other users, however other things need to be taken care of first before I start setting up new accounts anywhere.

Musical Chairs - *Kerplunk*

Short of a pure rationalization what determines our musical preferences? Even more so how do we internally sort our music into the arbitrary categories provided by the music industry?
Long ago I learned how to search by 'Rock' 'Classical' etc. but in most cases I was looking for music that really crossed the genere types. Once in a while I was successful, although mixing tastes (especially if you enjoy foreign music that doesn't have a MASSIVE following) can prove more expensive than putting up with the average junk the music companies put out.
With that in mind is music nothing more than a marker of pop-culture at any given time? Or is there something more to it's meaning and popularity or lack there of?
Damn this is beginning to sound like Mouse talking about "Tastey Wheat" - if I'm not careful the entire music world is going to taste, er sound like Chicken.
