Of These Thoughts Reoccurring

I used to really get caught up in the question "Who am I?" Then while in class I heard the question used over and over again and something internally snapped. The question became cliche and void of it's previous ability.

Suddenly the answer hit me - - We are everything we have ever done in our past, the good, bad, ugly, indifferent - it's all there. Can't dodge it, well short of a sharp concussion or some really groovy meds.

Now the question is "Who do you want to be?" or "What do you want to be?"
The past may haunt but the choice still remains - just like that poem from a sweaty tooth madman :) in "O Me O Life" to remember the answer given to the to the endless trains of the faithless:

Answer.

That you are here—that life exists, and identity;
That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse.

Now for the hard part - the question was a burden for others, the answer is has now become mine.
